61st Street Farmers Market
2013 Market Season: Saturdays from 9AM-2PM, May 11th-December 14th
The Market goes indoors starting November 2nd, and will be closed Thanksgiving weekend, November 30th
The Chicago Southside's premier farmers market, straddling the Hyde Park and Woodlawn neighborhoods, offering the freshest produce, meat, eggs, cheeses and prepared foods from local and regional farms. This year's lineup includes Mick Klug Farms, Mint Creek Farm, Peerless Bread and Jam, Growing Power, The Urban Canopy and many more.
Our market also features chef demos, live music and the "Market School" series - where a weekly expert drops knowledge about food and sustainability. There's something for the whole family here! As you become a fan of the 61st St. Farmers Market, please consider following our facebook page for updates or making a donation to help support operations for this much-needed neighborhood market.
We'll be here every Saturday—rain or shine—from mid-May through mid-December, from 9AM-2PM. During the outdoor season, which lasts through the end of October, the Market is located on 61st Street between Dorchester and Blackstone Avenues.
In November and December, the Market goes indoors at the Experimental Station. Entry is on Blackstone Avenue.
The 61st Street Farmers Market accepts LINK and Senior Farmers Market Coupons. We also match LINK purchases up to $25 per cardholder, per market day, as long as funding lasts. This means that LINK cardholders can double the value of their LINK purchases each week at the Market.
Our farmers only bring you the freshest produce, so it is good to know what is in season. Here is a Seasonality Chart of what to expect in northern Illinois.
