Event Support Staff

Join the team as seasonal staff for Division Street City Market!

As an Event Support Staff, you will be:


  • Providing effective ground security for vendors and shoppers at the farmers market.

  • Completing essential daily tasks such as tracking attendance of vendors and set up/ breakdown for special events and traffic barricades.

  • Contributing to a motivated  team working together for 25 weeks, outdoors, rain or shine.

and service-oriented:

  • Welcoming visitors and vendors to the Division Street City Market answering their questions, and communicating necessary rules and regulations.

  • Receiving direction from and conveying key information to both Experimental Station management and the onsite Market Manager.

  • Being attentive to the many details of running a farmers market, anticipating what is needed for its smooth operation and responding to issues as they arise.

The Event Support Staff is a seasonal, contracted position with a pay rate of $13/hour. The position works Saturdays only, 6AM-2PM (8 hrs/wk), from May 11th - October 26th 2019. This position requires being able to lift 50 lbs.

Those hired for this position will join our team that supports the City of Chicago Farmers Markets. Since 2010, Experimental Station has provided SNAP/Link processing services to the City of Chicago.
