People and Culture Lead

[Part Time position]

We are seeking to hire an experienced professional for our HR team. This role will be central to strengthening our team, and for building and growing infrastructure, programs and frameworks that lead teams to deliver their best work.

The People and Culture Lead works under the direction of the Deputy Director of Finance & HR Administrator and in collaboration with the Executive Director. This is a part-time, staff role with an annual salary of $25-$30k, based on experience. It comes with 50% employer-contributed health and dental insurance, and with paid time off.

EBT Site Coordinator 2

[Part Time Seasonal position]

A successful EBT Site Coordinator will adequately communicate, provide assistance, and support farmers markets by conducting SNAP and Link Match transactions. This position has the unique opportunity to understand the operations of EBT/SNAP services, post-season evaluation reports, and Link Match SNAP incentives. The EBT Site Coordinator will work with Experimental Station staff, farmers market managers, vendors, farmers, and SNAP clients.

The EBT Site Coordinator duties include:

EBT site coordinator duties (1-2 days a week / approximately 11 hours per week depending on schedule)

  • Provide EBT/SNAP transaction service at assigned City of Chicago farmers markets. EBT/SNAP service includes: transporting, setting up, and taking down tents and equipment; performing and tracking EBT transactions; reconciling EBT transactions daily; and reimbursing vendors for the previous week's EBT sales.

  • Process, distribute, and collect Link Match SNAP incentives.

  • Provide post-season program evaluation reports, suggesting program improvements and offering statistical analysis.

Expectations

  • Have a vehicle with insurance for transporting equipment.

  • A passion for farmers markets and urban agriculture.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • The ability to work outdoors, rain or shine.

  • A cell phone.

This position requires the ability to travel, thus candidates must have their own insured vehicle large enough to transport equipment.  Candidates must have the ability to work through October 28th and be willing to work at any of the City of Chicago Farmers Markets.

The selected hire will participate in training sessions provided by Experimental Station beginning ASAP. Training will cover aspects of farmers market management and organization, the establishment and implementation of EBT/SNAP programs, and the tracking and reporting of EBT/SNAP transactions.

This EBT site coordinator position will be seasonal, from June through October 2022, at an hourly rate of $18/hr plus travel and earned sick leave.
