61st Street Farmers Market

Be part of one of Chicago’s most beloved farmers markets, a cornerstone of fresh food access and community connection. Volunteers can help with:

  • Market Day Support: Set up booths, staff the information booth, and assist vendors and visitors to ensure a smooth market experience.

  • Publicity & Outreach: Help spread the word about the market through creative and strategic outreach efforts.

  • Community Gardening: Roll up your sleeves and contribute to the Jackson Park Terrace Community Garden by planting, weeding, mulching, and harvesting fresh produce.

Blackstone Bicycle Works

Support youth empowerment and education through cycling by volunteering with Blackstone Bicycle Works. Areas of support include:

  • Youth Bike Education: Teach bike safety and skills during camps and workshops.

  • Activity Coordination: Organize enriching activities like group rides, field trips, and art projects.

  • Bike Repairs: Use your skills to repair and refurbish bikes, or assist our youth mechanics in learning these essential skills.

  • Homework Support: Help youth participants excel academically by offering homework support.

Operations

Assist with the behind-the-scenes work that keeps Experimental Station running smoothly. Your help in this area ensures that our programs and events are successful. Volunteers can:

  • Support Arts & Cultural Projects: Help facilitate special projects and programming for artists and cultural producers.

  • Administrative Assistance: Contribute to day-to-day operations, ensuring everything runs seamlessly.

Marketing & Communications

Join our communications team to help share the stories of Experimental Station’s programs with the world. You’ll gain hands-on experience while supporting:

  • Content Creation: Assist with posts for our Facebook and Instagram accounts, engage with followers, and craft meaningful messages that reflect our mission.

  • Photo & Video Documentation: Capture the vibrant life of our programs, including Blackstone Bicycle Works and the 61st Street Farmers Market, through compelling visuals.

  • Analytics & Strategy: Collect and analyze data from social media, website traffic, and email campaigns to help us refine and amplify our outreach.
